Way back last winter I decided to try out my old 35mm film Canon Rebel. This little camera was what I really started learning photography on all those years ago. As much as I love my current photography set up, I really do miss film sometimes. It is so freeing in a way. To let go of the control and know that you must shoot through the whole roll of film before getting it processed. Growing up I can remember getting a ride to the local drugstore in Livingston, TN with my granny or mom, filling out an envelope for each roll of film (and I usually had several rolls), and sending them off to be developed. Picture pick up day was so exciting!
Well, a lot of has changed since then but it was still super exciting when I got the notice that my scans were ready. This was more of a test run to see if the camera still worked. I am still very pleased with the images. I have a lot to figure out about going back to film in this digital age, but I am going to keep playing with it. Film is so much fun! I am currently testing out a different kind of film so stay tuned to see how that turns out.
The images in this post were shot with a 35mm Canon Rebel (Tsomething), Kodak Ultramax 400 film, and either canon 28 1.8 lens, canon 85 1.8, and sigma art 35 1.4.
